Hello, my name is Mikaela, and I hail from Österbotten, Finland. I’ve spent my entire life living, traveling, and falling in love with the northern landscapes. While I do appreciate the occasional trip to other parts of the world, I could never imagine living anywhere else.

Recently, I felt inspired to share what life is like here in the North, especially as this region is becoming an increasingly popular travel destination. Many people are accustomed to city trips and beach vacations, but visiting here offers a completely different experience. Travelers often arrive with unique expectations, and it’s beneficial to have realistic ones. The Nordic countries expect visitors to travel sustainably, taking care of the environment and respecting the local culture we cherish and have built.

With a degree in tourism under my belt, and a writer and storyteller who loves animals, nature, culture, and adventures I aim to provide you with helpful and enjoyable insights. Balancing a full-time job, I dedicate a big part of my free time to traveling and writing.

In my shop, you’ll find useful and beautiful design products from the Nordic region, or at the very least, from Europe. I’m still exploring options, but I won’t take the easy route of using platforms like Alibaba.
